I didn't get much response with regards to my antenna in my last post about multiple issues, so I'll post here.

I need a new antenna, so I bought a replacement antenna on eBay, however it did not screw in properly. I tried plumbers tape, however as I suspected the bottom piece of the antenna threads on the black part of the base.

Could it be that the black piece in are stripped? Can anyone diagnose from these pictures? If the black piece is screwed up would I need to buy a whole new motor?

You gotta get that brass crap outta the way if you can so the antenna mast can go all the way down. You could maybe pick up another antenna assembly from a junkyard and swap everything over if it doesnt want to come out. Thats what I ended up doing. Cost was about 5 bucks.
