99 production date variations - LCA and B-pipe interchangeability

I have a fed spec 99 ES (more or less an SE with a winter package - I am in Canada) and need both LCA's and a B-pipe. With these two parts, the local auto supply store computers are asking for the month my 99 was produced (I never mentioned the model, just 3.0) claiming the LCA's and B-pipe are different for 99's made after March (or some other month.. ?), he even gave different quotes for the different parts he had.

Is this the case? does anyone know of these 99 production date differences, and if - in my case - aftermarket 99 LCA's and B-pipes are not interchangeable among all 99's?

FAST shows 06/98+, no differences in '99.

Regardless, they're all the same, all suspension parts are interchangeable. Same for the catback, taking into consideration the s-pipe.

It's possible they are asking year of production to differentiate between 99 and 00. The guys at your local parts place can be fairly knowledgeable or just placeholders. The placeholders just ask the questions the **** poor parts system asks.

Thanks for the quick replies.

My first hunch was that their system is setup by production, whereby a late in the year "99" is actually the 5th gen "00" model. I'll try to find out when 00's began production and will order the earlier-99 parts (even though slightly more $)

Yes, this comes up all the time on computer systems. I'm quite sure that the after 3/99 production date is the beginning of 5th generation. My '99 was built in July '98, and I don't think many '99s were actually produced in '99.

In all my years of ordering parts for my Max I've never come across two different sets of parts for the model year 1999 (aside from obvious differences like Fed/Cali spec, manual/auto). If there was a minor problem or recall with a particular part, it was replaced in the catalog so that all '99s will now take the new part.
