Cheap, strong light 18" rims?

Just asking for some ideas on a light, strong, and cheap 18" wheel preferably 18x8

If there are any good brands out there lemme know cuz I'm freakin whenever i'm driving on roads with 19"s and I would if i bend em, so i need something smaller for everyday use, if 18"s are too expensive, I'll go to 17"s

If weight's a concern go with 17's .. Finding a cheap, LIGHT 18 is really really hard

my 18's are 20lbs, pretty light and they were decently cheap for 18x8 's at $300 a peice, only problem is they don't make them anymore.

Couple of questions, and a statement.

If you don't get your rims, I just might be interested in your big brake kit.

My questions is, do 18x8 fight the max without a problem?

I got Konig Tantrum 18x8. They are actually (with tire since I never got to measure it without) 4 pounds HEAVIER than stock. They fit fine with 40mm offset.

No rubbing or all? I was looking at an rim that was 18x8 with a 40mm offset. Just out of curiosity what type of tires do you have on them?

I have Blitz 19"s Technospeeds 900 bucks per rim and yes 3 piece with a chrome lip 19x8.5 they fit perfectly even thought I still need 5mm spacers for the big brake kit to fit 42mm stock offset

The Stillen/AP brake kit will fit fine on 18"s as long as the offset is around 38mm

If you want to make me an offer on the big brake kit chack out the FS forum I posted it on last night

And Matt... your rims are beautiful haha i'll look for something 20lbs or less i dont think i have the $$$ for anything REALLY nice after these freakin Blitz rims

I have the Konig Verdicts in 18x8's and they don't rub, even with my 245/40/18 tires. I have pics in my homepage but they aren't too clear.

The offset is not the problem on your blitz technospeed. It's the size of the lip. Blitz has like a 2" lip. 8.5"/40mm rims with around 1" lip will fit over the big brakes.

CHEAP and LIGHT when talking about rims does not go together

Try www.whalentire.com and take a look at the ADR model line. I know most ADRs are relatively light or average weight, so any 18" rim that weighs 24-26 lbs is a good weight.

Well, they all look nice, but I think they're knockoffs of other brands. The first one looks similar to the Racing Hart M6, the third one looks like one of the wheels from the MOMO line, and the last one, which I like the most out of the ones you listed, looks like the Konig Tantrum. I was really picky about my wheels because I didn't want to be known for riding around on some wheels and someone tells me I was a cheapo for buying the fake ones. Like my Konig Verdicts, I knew that Katana made a similar style, but I just wanted the true set.

Who gives a crap what others say dude? Screw them! I want to see what they are driving on first, and even if it's better.. I don't care.

There is NO WAY you can get, cheap price, great tough quality, popular and quality brand name, light and good design all in one. You have to sacrifice at least 2 of those things.

My advice is.... even though these rims are relatively cheap, you get what you pay for..... honestly, I don't think any of them look that great, some are alright don't get me wrong, but you will still end up spending upwards to 1 grand.. because 18" tires run at least 150$ per tire, probably around 170-200 if you want something good! Also, if you do look at "knock-off" brands as some people call them, take a look at the Katana wheels, there is a dude on the parts of sale forum offering amazing prices on 17-18" Katanas... they look amazing and way better then ADRs.

I like the last ones too, and the ADR RS Akunins do fit my brakes i know that i had em for awhile before i sold em haha

and i dont care about getting a rep as rolling on knockoffs, I mean i'll roll on these rims cuz i dont wana mess up my other rims... anything BUT knockoffs haha, but thanks for the help, I honestly dont care if I bend a $150 rim atleast nothing compared to bending a $900 Blitz rim

I'll check out the Katanas, but I still have no idea whether 18x7.5s are wide enough for my brakes

Hmm...so many choices...

Haha I went throught he exact same phase as you a few months ago. I ended up getting 17" Racing Hart CP-035s (see my homepage). They are not extremely eye-catching or fancy, but they weight 13.6 lbs in my size which is pretty incredible. Only problems is I'm not rich and it came to $2400 with tires . But I love them and I'm glad I bought light wheels - I get mad tire spin if I want it now. But now I'm in the marker for another set of rims. I want 15" CP-035s with drag slicks for racing (Yup I like the wheels that much). Those 15"s are the lightest available - 8.0 lbs flat! But no more money = probably Koseis or something. Plus slicks cost alot too.

Since weight was so important to me, I ended up buying 17x7.5" Semi-Forged Japaneese SSR Competition off ebay in perfect condition.
Weiging at only 12.6 pounds, they are very very strong and light "I highly recommend it".
O.H. forgot, I paid $750 shipped.

Guess I shoulda capitalized CHEAP instead of LIGHT

I can't think off the top of my head about SSR or OZ, but I know Volks are $$$$$$$$$$$$ and Racing Harts ... I've seen those pile in at $600 a rim for the nice ones.
