Trans fluid

ok i did go and read the fluid and stuff forum but have not really got what i needed.

here is the deal i recently had my alignment done because I hit a curb in the snow and it moved my steering a bit. But after I got my car, mechanic told me that the trans pan is covered with fluid, and its getting low on fluid…………………………….I DON’T WANT THEM TO DO IT, I know it will be expensive.

Does anyone have any suggestions???????, I did look under the car and it is bit covered.

what to fill it with to get it off the low mark... how to fix it.. i saw at autozone you add this formula to 10 quarts of trans fluid, it suppose to fix the leak. would that work you think?>.......... also where does fluid go?

You fill it with ATF. Regular parts store stuff, synthetic. Your call.

You fill it through the dipstick tube.

Don't half *** it, actually fix the leak; don't rely on 'stop leak'.

All of these answers could easily be found through search.

Check the fluid level with the dipstick, if you added too much drain some of it out...

check the dipstick, and if there is too much then take that line out again and drain until at the right level

Thats a good question.. what are some symptoms that too much fluid has been added? Will there be slow or rough gear changes? What will happen when "too much" has been put in?

Is this assuming that you for whatever reason absolutely refuse to just check the level on the dipstick?

It could cause an issue or two, depending on how much extra there is.

But the problem is easily avoidable by using the correct amount of fluid.
