Need help with very rough idle

Ok here's the story-
Saturday morning I cleaned my Jim Wolf intake with the K&N cleaner/recharger kit. I followed the instructions perfectly. After I re-installed it, the car ran great. It ran even smoother than before. Then, Sunday afternoon, the car started to run very very rough, all of a sudden. There is a constant vibration and it's felt more at slower speeds or when you are slowing to a stoplight. I know it has to be something with the idle, like it seems real low, now.
Also, when I turn the key, it starts fine. When accelerating, I can really hear the engine, too.
Is an idle of 600-700 OK?

Does the engine need time to adjust to more airflow from the filter?

Did I do something wrong when cleaning it?

Or should I just get a new intake?

Help!!

thanks in advance!

Idle speed of 600 - 700 is perfect. You might want to check all your connections again. Make sure you have no air leaks after the MAF sensor. Also be sure no wires came off. You may get a check engine light soon if that is the case.

If you don't like the roughness of the idle at the 600-700 rpm range you can increase it to about 1000 rpm and that should remove most vibrations. It's fairly simple to do using the instructions on
http://web2.airmail.net/scutchen/max...ance.htm#idle. Enjoy

However, before you do that, iti is definitely in your best interest to find the actual problem.

rough idle
Thanks for the advice and comments, everyone!

During lunch, I checked all the connections, the electrical connectors, the air. Everything seemed fine. So I called Courtesy Nissan, where I bought it. They suggested that maybe I put too much oil after cleaning the filter. Anyone else ever had this problem?
And how do you know if you put on enough or too much? Do you go by the color? Mine is kinda a reddish-pink color.

Well, it wasn't the air intake. I just had a bad #5 fuel injector.

Cool, but take it easy on that oil on the filter because too much can create problems. What was wrong with the injector?

That SUCKS!!! How many miles do you have on your car?? Did you ever use fuel injector cleaner in it or a gas additive?? Just curious what might have caused it to go...

Me too!
I recently got a tune up, and they replaced the basic things, but now my car starts shaking when I come to stop light or when I'm going slow. I can't really feel it when i'm driving, but i dont know what is wrong. I can't take my car in until Sat. to get it fixed, but one of my friends things it might be the engine mounts are loose. Has anyone heard of anything like this? It seems kinda weird to me, but im not very engine smart. Thanks for the help. Hope you get your car fixed soon too.

I have 73,000 miles on the car. I've never used a fuel injector cleaner or additive, but I will try one if someone recommends a brand.
