Did this happen prior to the new plugs?

Any misfire codes?

Did you search at all?

Check to make sure that there is no leak in your intake system after the MAF sensor. Maybe you have a loose connection, or one of the connectors has a hole in it.

How did you come to the conclusion it was the solenoid pack?

90% chance it's just a coil or an injector.

I have the same issue.

Had a P1320 code which had to do with a cylinder 1 misfire. Bought 6 used packs from a 96. Replaced just cylinder 1. Car drove fine for two days. Replaced the other 5 today. Car runs much better, but still tries to die every now and then when at a light or in P, N, or D.

Plugs are new.

No P1320 code thus far, but it still tries to die.

I'll let you know if I find anything or it gets as bad as it did prior to installing the other 5 packs.

In my case RPM's are normal in neutral (750ish). In drive it's around 550 and then starts dipping towards 400-450.

My ECTS is brand new, coil packs are used from a 96 (supposedly 100% functional), spark plugs have less than 2k on them.

Unlikely, unless you left them finger tight.

Have you tested the coils yet?

Are you still getting the misfire code after the plugs have been changed?
If so, chances are you have a coil pack s-l-o-w-l-y giving up.

Clean the throttle body and the IACV, that might help with you out a bit.

A forum just for cleaning TB/IACV?

Anyway, here are some DIYs that you could've searched for:

I had this problem just last week. The car wasnt throwing any codes becuase it wasnt happening often enough i guess. It'd only happen in drive or reverse while standing still...the RPM would dip a bit, and then it would catch itself and go back up. it was perfectly fine while driving.

The last coil pack I changed was cyl 3...so i swapped it again, and its been fine since.
