Headlight mounting bolt

Hi guys,

I accidentally broke my headlight mounting bolt/screw for my R34s by overtightening (I know, I know). This is the last thing that is preventing me from mounting and using my projector retrofit, so I need to find this quick.

The bolt/screw has thread on both sides, the headlight-facing side is a really weird thread pitch that looks more like a screw, and the one that faces the engine bay is the same as the stock headlights. In between the two threads is a separator that also acts as a washer on the headlight side.

Is it the same mounting screw/bolt as stock? I tried getting that one out of my old headlights, but couldn't move that sucker.

Where can I find this screw/bolt thing? I'm not even sure what it's officially called. I have already tried Advanced auto and Home depot, no dice. I looked at Courtesy Nissan's part catalogue and they don't seem to have a separate part number for it, just for the nut.

Any help?

That's a negative, it's totally borked.

I'm going to try to use just a screw to hold it on, though finding the right size at home depot was journey.

I have the worst luck.

If you hadn't planned on keeping your headlights around for future use, you should try to get that piece out of your OEM light.

Alternatively, see is Maxima_Joe has any broken headlights and could extract one for you. That, or post in the classifieds.

Yeah, I pretty much figured that this would be the answer. I actually found a screw that's close to if not the same thread as the side that faces the headlight and just screwed it through the metal bracket on the car. It seemed to do the trick.

Thanks guys.
