Painted wheels.

So I took my stock rims and had a friend of mine sand blast them, so i decided to paint them, it is basically a gun metal metallic color. The pics dont do them justice they look so much better in person, these are pics from my phone.. I am goin to wet sand them tomorrow and see how they turn out. These pics are progress pics. I will have the finished result tomorrow (4/2/09)

Sand Blasted...

Painted with Clear coat. (Not wet sanded yet)

Sand Blasted and painted with clear next to each other.

I like the look, sort of an SE-L titanium take on the sawblades.

Did you use Duplicolor Wheel Paint graphite? If not, what did you use? They look great!

Well only time I wet sand the base coat is if there is any runs or any foreign crap stuck in them. You want to wet sand the clear coat to get rid of the "orange peel", runs, and foreign stuff in them. You would want to use at LEAST 2000 grit sand paper when you wet sand the clear coat. I had to use 2000 since I couldnt find any 2500 or 3000. Then I waxed and buffed the top to a very nice shine. A few people at my work didn't believe that I did that with a can of spray paint and clear coat spray can lol. Now a few people want me to do that to their wheels. anyway I will have them on the car once i get the other two done.

Ps: Yes it is the Dupli-color wheel paint along with the clear coat.

Metallic "orange peel" free shine!

Looks Pretty damned good for spray paint!
