How hard will it be to pop out this dent on the trunk??

Hey all, I am in the market of getting a 4th gen Maxima and this blue one here is being sold by a dealer. I want to know if you guys think it would be an easy fix to pop the dent out on the trunk? What do you guys think? It won't let me just attach the pic so scroll down a little until you see a pic of the backend. Also, would it be fairly easy to take off that "Darwin" fish? Any help is much appreciated!

If you look at the close up and see how the dent has pushed the top of the ridge up and disfigured it...

There will not be a magical cure for that dent...

BUT at $3300, and considering the previous owner was keeping track of the MPG and 328 per tank not being too bad, if the driveability checks out I'd totally do it

Interior looks great, exterior looks like a shunt'n'bump paradise.

Oh, and check to see if it's been here it's whole life (I live in San Jose too).

If it's been in the bay area most or all of it's life, 3k SOLD!

The dent should pop back out fairly easy. The fish on the trunk will come off the same way thats described in the stickies for debadging the trunk.
$3390 seems kinda high for the condition of the car. I'd look around more or see if the dealer will lower the price if youre that interested in it.

Awesome guys, I really appreciate the feedback! Do you think I can just open the trunk, pull back the lining and pop most of it out myself? Yeah, I might have to go down there and check it out. I've been trying to contact the dealer to ask some questions but no luck getting a live person yet. I live near Vallejo so San Jose is a drive. Again thanks for the quick responses guys.

I'm actually trying to get a 97-99 with leather interior. The blue one I posted, I'm gonna see if they are willing to do about $2500 cash

Yeah I am definitely gonna ask them if they're willing to take a lower price. I've actually been looking for a 4th gen the past two months. The ones I've seen were actually in worse condition or the others are out of my price range.

If I had the extra 2 Gs, I would definitely get this beautiful one:

I think this is probably the lowest priced 4th gen with very low mileage from a dealer I've ever seen.

If you are not in a hurry, wait. Snypa is right. This is not bad, but the dings will cost you upwards of $1k or so to get fixed / painted. The trunk most likely will not be 'fixable' propery. If it doesn't bother you, then it's not a big issue.

I'd say if you look, you can find better for the same money. If you wanna buy this one, only go $3k or so. IMHO.

I'd have to asume that they tried to pop it out before they put it up for sale. With that said it probably won't pop right out. And I agree the price is way too high with the dents on the drivers side, and the scrapes by the bumper.

The original car has lots of body damage and at 140,000, it is a $1200 car...maybe retail of $2000. Some dealer took that in for $500, but a couple people probably made money on it at auctions.

Also, wouldn't the "Maxima" lettering be bent too?

There isn't a pannel on that car that doesn't have dents on it.
Why are you so concerned with the trunk?
What about the rest of the mess?

Personally, I'd look for something in better cosmetic condition.
