Does anyone know how to connect a MAP-ECU2 to a 1998 maxima 5 spd. or know anything about it

 

Get wiring diagram for MAP-ECU2.

Get ECU connector pinout for your car.

Wire it up.

this is the mapecu 2 i heard it was good and u could mess with timin and alot of other stuff

 

wow... have heard great things about the map-ecu2 but our cars arent map based so I'm sure there is a strong possibility this wont work, but please research it and prove us wrong.

Im sure someone said the same thing about the Utec and now look, it can be used on a 5th gen so look into it.

Either search, look at the stickies in AM, or look in the FSM.

 

Just because there's a wiring diagram, doesn't necessarily mean it'll work on the '07.

Also, you can do just the same stuff with the EU, and from what I've heard the EU does more for less cost.

oh so there is a wiring diagram for the mapecu2 to work on a 07 maxima... if so then impressive.


I would determine what make it work on a 07 ecu and then determine if those difference also exist between the 98 ecu vs the 07 ecu. The 07 ecu is worlds apart from the 97 ecu.

97 being a rom based and the 07 being a ram based reflashable ecu. This alone make a huge difference. The Utec can be made to work on a 03 ecu with the vq35 ecu, but the 4g's ecu cannot use it. You will have some heavy research to do but I hope something can work out.

I'd start with getting the ecu for teh 98 maxima, and the 07 maxima. and the wirigin diagram from mapecu2 and start cross checking
