I changed my power steering fluid(doubt it was ever changed before I got the car almost 30K miles ago, at 100K now) a couple of days ago and since then, I have noticed a few changes in my idle. Particularly with my 00vi/A33 IACV setup, my idle would dip when I was turning, going through a parking lot, parking, etc. Flushed the fluid and voila. My idle isnt 'stock', but dang for an 00VI/A33 IACV setup, its definitely a more stable idle(never dips below 500 RPMs like it used to, needle doesnt bounce around at all, etc.)

You may think to yourself, "this kid is crazy"... well, think about it like this: Old, burnt PS fluid will cause the PS pump to work harder to achieve the same result compared to new fluid, right? The PS pump is on the timing belt, aka, its attached to the crank shaft. The harder the pump has to work, the more stress it puts on the crank(in other words, the more stress it puts on the engine).

Drive belt, not timing belt.
