Is there a write-up for heater core replacement?

I've been searching on here for a couple of days and the best I can find is that replacing the heater core is a PITA. I have the .pdf files for maintenance, etc and no mention there. I have already stripped the interior out, dash and all. My mechanical skills are slightly above novice. I don't mind working the car, just take my time, but it would really help if someone could help me out. I know if I do complete this task I will post a help file for future reference. So some of you mechanics out there HELP!!!

ps My max is my baby, however at this point I will not take it to the dealer, so if I cant fix it then I'll have to let the MAX go.... so please help me in this.

Surprisingly enough, I see no mention of the heater core in the A32 FSM at all. It's in the A33 FSM though, it would probably be just about the same.

Though with the entire dash off, it really should be pretty straight forward.

Thanks pmohr, not much to go on in the 2000 FSM but should be a good enough starting point.

Also much appreciated for the online FSM links.

I replaced mine without taking apart the dash, there is a short cut. Mine is 95 with autoclimate it might differ from other years, it can be done in 2-3hrs max.

Heater Core!!

I just installed one in my 96 maxima its actually pretty easy. You start off by taking off the Glove Compartment, then you unbolt the heater core from the firewall after your done with all of that you have to make sure your lines are drained under the hood then you unscre the two ac lines going through the firewall into the car. This should take you about an hour if you got the right tools (sockets ratchet, extension, and two crescent wrenches) dont go taking the entire dash off now!! need more help just contact me!! Hope this helps!!!!
