A/C Compressor Bearing Post Mortem
I damaged the clutch plate while trying to pry it off so I'm replacing the whole AC compressor. Temporarily put a 36" bypass belt on there for now.
I got an aftermarket compressor in good condition at the JY for $30 today. It's a Driveworks DW67424 remanufactured compressor that would of costs $289 at a local auto store. I locally purchased two R134a 12oz cans and one 8oz bottle of PAG46 oil. I just ordered a new drier and gaskets from rockauto.com.
I'll start this project this weekend. Right now I'm letting the oil drip out of compressor in a sealed bag. I know nothing goes inside this compressor but new oil.
Haynes manual states to drain the oil out of the old compressor thru the suction fitting then add in the same amount of new oil into the new compressor. I presume the suction fitting is for the low pressure hose. While holding the compressor upside should I turn the clutch to get all the oil dispensed? How much of the 8oz needs to be put in the compressor then remaining amount in the drier?

Here is my clutch plate. To get it off, the tool pushes through the center hole while pulling up on the outer 3. The outer 3 aren't threaded, so find a bolt with a head that will fit in the whole. Then to hold it in place I used a vice grips and a hammer to bend the tip over on a nail and put the tip in next to it. Do this for all three holes and you can set the clutch removal tool over the threaded portion of the bolt and secure with a washer and nut.
