rear caliper problem
rear caliper problem
i think i may have over extended the rear calipers. i tried to turn them back in, and they do spin, but they wont go in. does anyone have any idea what to do to get them back in?
or has anyone had experience rebuilding them? i dont feel like spending 200 bucks on 2 rebuilt ones when the rebuild kit is 8 bucks each.
i tried searching for it but all the threads didnt have a result posted

My first question would be have you opened up the bleeder valve? This will help relieve some of the pressure inside the caliper. (I just went through this myself) Second clockwise in-clockwise out. I hope you are using the cube tool that you can buy (or borrow) from autozone for like $10. This will help you put better even pressure, as you push in and turn. I have even soak my threads before with some P.B. Blaster, and used a air gun to free up a stuck piston before! (I ran that sucker in and out about twenty times before I even hit bottom) Not recommended, but I was in a bind at the time and so far it has worked. Good luck

just rent the caliper tool from autozone. Yes, it can keep on spinning and not retract. You have to push and turn hard. Rent the caliper tool, not just the cube and you'll save a lot of trouble. Open the bleeder valve and it'll be even easier.
