d2 coilovers??
d2 coilovers??
ive heard great reviews on d2 suspension systems but idk if ne .org members have used them? found them on weksos for 850 shipped
i just paid 540 for my agx's and was about to dish out another 230 for my stechs...i wonder if it would just be more worth it to get the d2 system

I just got rid of my D2's but had them on my car for about 5K or so. IMO, they made the car handle like it was on rails, I really notice the difference now that I have the stock suspension on my car
. However, it was a bone jarring ride and I live in the DC area and the streets suck (that is why I got rid of them). So if you don't mind having your kidneys rattled but want a stiff well handling suspension, the D2's are the way to go. These things were built for the race track, so in that sense there performance is unmatched. However the race tracks don't have pot holes, so I am sure a stiff ride was the least of the designers' worries. If your not going to track your car, then you might want to go with something a little more forgiving; you won't be able to use them to their full potential, and be left with a high dentist bill from all the teeth rattling
A couple afterthoughts: (1) I had my car dropped a little over 2in and kept blowing axles. I was told that if I coughed up the cash to get them professionally rebuilt, I would have been ok. (2) The car had a hard time staying in alignment; that being said, install them yourself (if you have the know how), but get a good suspension shop to set up your camber plates, level the car and make sure your control arms are parallel with the ground. (3) D2 will fully rebuild your coilovers if you need them too (for a little extra cash).
If you hang out in the classifieds you can probably pick some up for less than $600. Also as an added bonus, the D2's have really easy height adjustment; undo 4 bolts in the rear, to drop the axle, and you only have to take the wheel off in the front.

this is my 5th summer running my D2's ( I take them off for winter) and no problems.
unfortunately, I paid with shipping and delivered to my door $1400 for them..
but still worth it.. they look hawt ( purple) and like mentionned above, handle as if it were on rails... if you can get them for $600 or under, buy them..
