Rear Suspension help

Ok so I'm trying to replace my rear shocks and springs. The lower bolt holding the assembly on is where I'm stuck. The nut that is supposedly welded or whatever well isn't. And is spinning while I try to remove the bolt.

Now here is where I need help. How do I get that bolt out?

Thanks for any help..

It's not welded...dunno where you heard that.

It's a common method used in a lot of wrenching situations: when you're trying to tighten or loosen a nut and the bolt is spinning with it, take a second wrench and stick it on the bolt end to hold it in place.

This is where I got it from....

The lower rear shock bolt is a 17mm. The nut is fixed to the suspension

Fixed, yes. Not welded.

IIRC it just sits in a hexagonal slot cut out for the nut, to keep it from spinning.

Have you not tried getting a hold of the nut in any way?

Yea ended up getting a hold of it after some ghetto rigging. lol. Need new nuts since they both are rounded off. Going to have cut the passenger one off. Time to bum rides tomorrow to get to places. Oh well.

just cut the flange off and use a socket or wrench to hold the bolt, the flange never hold and you are just going to be dealing with it again later on.
