2005 Pathfinder CD problems

I just installed a 2005 pathfinder CD changer. Everything seems to be working but the CD changer loaded the first CD and now it won't eject or load any other CD's. If anyone has any ideas how to fix it, I would appreciate it. I don't think disconnecting the battery terminal will work. Is this just a defective unit? Is this a common problem? I will post pics when I get this problem solved.

Is it giving you any errors, or not saying anything?

Was it a standard CD, or did it have stick on labels, maybe an irregular shape, etc?

Yes I realize it is maxima.org, I installed it in my maxima which a lot of people tend to do as an upgrade, but thank you for bringing it to my attention? That address bar just tends to escape me.

It was not giving me any errors it just beeps three times when I try to load, play or eject the CD's.

No it was not an irregular CD. It was playing fine in the stock player. I have read on other sites that this is a common problem for the pathfinder HU's in general, so I don't think it is the CD. The other sites don't seem to have fixes though unfortunately.

http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/137782.html This is all I could really find. It appears to be a very common issue. Seems it's a plastic gear that breaks and doesn't allow the CDs to rotate / move. Sorry if I came off as a : before.

Are you mechanically enclined at all? Could you remove the unit and take it apart? I'm sure that is all that needs to be done from the sounds of it, perhaps replace the plastic gear. It's a Clairion HU (fwiw) and you can order individual parts for it.

Cheers!
