Pathfinder Bose in 1995 GLE

I've read a lot of threads about installing a Pathfinder Bose changer into a 4th generation. My question is whether the cutout in all 4th generation Maximas are the same. I've asked Ebay sellers to give me measurements for radios like in the thread below and they send me measurements of around 18.5cm x 11.2cm. 350z radios are 7 5/8in x 4 1/2in. The problem is that my cutout is only 17.5cm x 10.3cm. Which one actually fits into mine? Thanks.

as long as you already have bose in your car, the pathfinder hu will fit with no problem. you have to drill out the brackets in order to make it sit flush with your dash. go into the i30/35 forums for more info on pathfiner hu.

I just replaced the Bose HU in my 95 SE with one from a 98 Pathfinder. Fit (& works) perfectly - I just had to swap the Pathfinder side mounting brackets with the brackets from my Max.

I installed it fine on mine...to bad the changer was broken when I got it . You have to splice some wires to make it work (K and D). You have to tap into the power supply (D) and cut the amp wire (K) and mate them. Make sure you realize that you are looking at the mirror image of the diagram here. This is the back of the radio

So what you guys are saying is that the 98 pathfinder face is bigger and will sit in front of the cutout instead of being flush. However the metal box behind the face is smaller than the face and will fit through the cutout. But the 2005 will sit flush with some drilling in the mounting bracket. Right?

There was zero `making it fit' when I replaced my 95 Bose HU with the single CD Bose HU from a 98 Pathfinder. It was an EXACT replacement (including all wiring) and looks and works identical to the old HU - except that the button arrangement is slightly different. The volume control is a little flaky, but the HU only cost $60, so f'ing a little with the vol. control **** (usually only when I first power it up) is no big deal.

I am currently installing a Bose '06 Pathfinder 6 disc changer HU in my '97 GLE. It is EXACTLY the same size. I bought this off eBay for $149 + $15 shipipng for $164 to my door. It's a new pull-out unit.

I will post up pics shortly.
