maxima woes......

so the car semi-overheated today.

Funny thing though. I saw the temp gauge jump a lil higher than usual, so i turned on the heat and rolled down the windows. My house was only a few blocks away. No heat came out. It was as cold as a/c. I checked my coolant when i got to the fort. There was hardly any in there. Oh well. Then i left to head to my parent house.

So im thinking.......leak in cooling system somewhere. Unless i get back home and find milky oil....

Well have you checked for a leak yet? Looked for anything, or did you post here first?

Pressure test the system, look for leaks.

put coolant in there asap, then like stated above check to see where your leaking it from, do you see any leaks once you drive off where you were parked? ir do you see white smoke coming from your muffler?

i posted here first. i had to grill all day over at the parents bbq. i figured you guys could help me brainstorm while i was there..

i saw no obvious leaks when i pulled off where i parked.

i saw no white smoke coming from the exhaust.

ive never changed the radiator.

the pressure test will be the first thing done in the morning.

If it's the original radiator, that could very well be it, they tend to develop cracks over time. Look at the bottom of the fill neck:

Changing the radiator is not that hard, and may be necessary -- look inside to see the condition, and also look for cracks where the pipes connect

common sense goes a long way. you should pressure test, flush and refill after you determine whats going on, ie, leak in rad, leaky hose, etc. DO NOT WAIT, do it immediatley!!!!

That is right, must be the radiator or any hose, like they said refill the system and get a pressure test to find out any leaks.
