HELP!! Power Steering
I have searched the posts and found several about weather or not it is safe to drive w/out the power steering belt removed (i.e. will I hurt my car). I understand it will be ridiculously difficult to steer at low speed, but I just need to drive it a day or two that way at most.
Back story: Need to replace the belt b/c current one is shredding/shreiking. Can't get to that damn rear pivot bolt and am considering cutting the current belt and cranking the pully to "pull" the new belt on.
Just trying to get an idea of what I am up against if I am unsuccessful.

Yes, it's obviously fine.

And it's not that hard to steer once you're moving, it's just low speed that would suck.

Thanks
Thanks for the replies. The good (great) news is that I didn't have to worry about it. I cut the old belt and turned the pulley to "pull" the new belt on. Nice and quiet and working great. Too bad I had to do it the "wrong" way, but the tensioner screw was going to either:
a. Break
b. Not Move
Again, thanks for the replies!
