Is it my Tranny?

So last week, I had just started the car up for the day, made it about 6 blocks and stopped at my first light. When I went to go, the engine revved up, but it was as if I was in neutral. So I thought maybe I slipped in to N and thought nothing of it...until yesterday...

Same thing happened...got to my first stop sign, then went to go, the engine revved when I hit the gas, but it was as if it was not in gear. I shut off the car, restarted, and it was fine. This happened two more times both after stopping and attempting to go again. Then, it went away for the rest of the day.

-This only happens from idle going to accelerate...any ideas?

Check tranny fluid level, if it's OK then check all electrical connections to the tranny. If no problem is found, it's time to replace the tranny.

Indeed, the absolute first thing to check is fluid level. That should be a given.

any codes?
torque converter could be going bad because the car is not locked in gear. when you are at a dead stop the car goes into N. when you give it gas, it revvs up to around 1.5k and than goes into gear, but hesitates.
i have had this same problem and i'm getting my new-used tranny put in this week.
