Crankcase position sensor

Not sure if I have the name of the part quite right, but I read a post in a search that indicated if a starter was replaced or a battery went dead there is a chance the crankcase position sensor would also need to be replaced? My car sometimes has a tough time starting, it would start and die, I'd wait a second and start it again, mostly everytime it would start up with no problems. I had the fuel pressure checked, no problems, good fuel pressure, the filter was just replaced. I've had a new starter put in a few years ago and a new battery and thinking about it now seems to be about the time my problem started. Been trying to figure out what is going on with the car. Never stalls, just sometimes would start up okay and sometimes not. Any advice or suggestions?

I have just been through the same situation. The ECU codes pointed towards the Crankshaft Position Sensor. I replaced the part ($75) and now the car runs fine. It took about 2 weeks afterwards before the car was able to readjust totally. Now it runs better than ever. Good Luck!
