I hate my budget Y-pipe. =[

I should of went with Cattman... but NOOOO I wanted too save $125 bucks.

ugh. I am such an Idiot. I mean Its a good pipe but its just sounds like I have a giant paperbag under my car. Raspy as hell. Its so annoying and when I really step on it, it will sound a little bee in the can. Now, I don't know what too do, The pipe is about a year old and in mint condition, but I really need too figure out something.

I called LSS a while back and they said it was because of their "new Flexes" And obv they didn't wanna do anything about it. This is why I don't buy exhausts on the internet.

Anyway, What should I do? it sounds so yuck.

Can't you wrap it in exhaust wrap to quiet it down?

I dunno, probably not heat wrap is just to consume the heat. Plus i heard sometimes the pipe you are wrapping cracks over a period of time

I've had my budget y-pipe for 4years and it's been on both of my maxima's and zero problems, no bee's but it is raspy but that from not having a cat or res

maybe you hit something and broke/cracked the welds

Hmm, Seems like a good idea, BUT exhaust wrap would make it not flex. and the crap will just fall off.

And yes, you can have it, If you buy it off me. Since there is nothing wrong with it, it is just how it is designed.

get a better catback setup and make sure none of the gaskets have fallen out from between the res and cat, as well as the y connection.

My stainless budget Y is perfect after almost two years of midwest winters. Hell, it's still shiny underneath the car. No bees in a can noise or raspiness whatsoever. I don't see how the quality could be any better than this.

You guys need to say if you're talking about the aluminum version or the SS version when you're talking about your experiences. There's a noticeable difference in the way each one sounds.

Cut your losses, sell the Ypipe to someone here that doesn't care about the sound issues, and order yourself a quality Cattman ypipe.

injectors clips and injectors. But you would almost be better using the 4th gen lower w\ 4th gen injectors if you want to go the cheap route LMK

Same here, my Budget Y pipe has been on for over a year, and all I can say is that it is perfect! It is money well spent, I have no odd noise issues or anything else for that matter. It is a great product imho.

+1 and when my flex section fell apart, they sold me a new one and I had a shop weld it in.

Dude, you live in Mass definitely do not wrap it. Wrapping traps heat, moisture and salts and in New England that means massive rust especially with an aluminum pipe.

I have a warpspeed SS pipe and other than the slight issues installing, I have no issues with it

What does it matter if a member is female or male? Just wondering .... was there a point to be made here?

WOW .... "dats alot booze!" LOL Seriousley, you could probably sell that and make enough to buy a 'Y' pipe ... no? But, that's a hella good trade IMO.

I was just looking at a budge 'Y' .... I can't believe I've done what I have to my Max and I still don't have a 'Y' for it! Does anyone recommend who to buy from, or not for that matter?

OP: Have you considered a test pipe cat or res or even muffler to change the output sound? Do you have an otherwise stock exahust? I agree, check the gaskets and fittment, never know.

hahahahaha

to the op....

I had my y-pipe since 04....and its still doing ok..i mean..it has a HUGE dent in on the bottom since i bottomed out soo many times and i bet its more restrictive than the stock ones... anyways, how bad can the sound be?? i think i have bees in the can right now..but honestly....when your car starts to act up more and more....this so called sound really isn't an issue...

I am trying to sell it for 100 bucks and i still am not having any buyers..... But that is the plan i sell 00vi to get a y-pipe. Since i have no need for the 00vi anymore.

I cant belive i still have my stock y-pipe on either. It just killed me to put that thing back on when we put the 3.5 back in but it was a 3.5 swap on a budget lol probley did the whole job for 450 with a fairly newer motor(73k IIRC)

really, cause I'd beg to differ. The wrap isn't solid. It's just a big fiberglass "bandage" that has a bit of a stretch to it. It will though make the flex rot over time...

I want a Cattman. I will sell my Y pipe most likely. And get a new B pipe. U guys can listen to my sound clips on youtube. I am in the exhaust thread.

I wouldn't wrap a pipe anyway, Especially a flex. because... well it needs to flex. lol

None hear either, I had it professionally installed because I couldn't take off the old Y. Too rusted.

Maybe, I will give them a call and see what they can do. I doubt they will do anything for me. Hell I will take a new flex from them and have somone Jerry-weld in it. lol

I have the same problem (Bees). It was an exhaust leak. Fixed that but my Stillen exhaust makes the cabin noisy. Getting a new muffler. I've been told that will fix it for sure. I'm going flowmaster or dynamax.

ur right it is a good deal, but the thing is. IF I take my Y off and ship it, I am out of one and can't drive my car. lol

Lemme see what I can do man. I will call up LSS(budget) and see if they can help me. And you can contact me later.

Since when does aluminum rust? If its aluminized steel then yes it will rust.
