Are we to assume that you've already tried pushing the button?

You say a '97? AFAIK, the only I30s that came with TCS are '99+, same as the Maxima.

I don't know, do you?

How can we answer that question, when you're the one with the car right there?

Do you have a SLIP or TCS, etc light on the dash? Is there a TCS off button?

If not, what exactly makes you think that you do have traction control?

...if you don't have the TCS light, and you don't have the TCS switch...why would you think that you have TCS anyway?

And where are you reading this? Neither the FSM nor any threads I can find on the org make any mention of the <99 A32 having available TCS.

Why exactly are you trying to 'turn off' what you do not have? Are you feeling your 'traction control' kicking in or something?

Indeed, the CL ad mentions it, but you know how it is with used car places.

Where does Pat's cardomain say that he has traction control? I went through all 5 pages, didn't see it anywhere.

For those interested in the future, traction control on 4th gen was only offered in the year '99 and ONLY as an option. It NEVER came standard.

One would think that would make it very rare then.

I don't understand why you'd need traction control on an FWD car. In an RWD car your tail can come out, or you can get unstable acceleration, fine. Having spent several years driving an RWD car with no TC, I can appreciate why you'd want it. But in an FWD car, the only thing TC will do is prevent you from getting unstuck. I've never had it kick in except when I'm trying to go up hills, which is when I disable it.

Apparently, it helps you go up icy slopes. Watch this clip from 5th gear UK.

I know it came standard on later year I30T but thats really about it. If u dont know u go outside turn ur car on, and try and spin the tires, it shouldnt take much if ur an MT do a 3k clutch dump, AT brake boost to about 2.5K and let go of the brake, and watch lights on ur dash.
