99 SE-L security causing staring problems!
My mechanic said he diagnosed this as being the problem to my starting issues. He originally told me he diagnosed it as a sensor malfunction. Has this ever happened to any of you guys and is the Nissan dealership the only one that can resolve this issue?
I don't have a 99 but I've seen countless threads of guys with 99's having the exact same issue. IIRC, its the chip in the key or the brain for the NATS needs to be reprogrammed
If it gives you any warning, get it taken care of asap. The chip in my key decided to loose its program one night when I was at the movie theater. When the movie got out at 12:30am, my car just cranked and cranked.
The security light will stay ON (not flashing like usual) if there is something wrong with the immobilizer or NATS. I had to get the car towed to Nissan and pay $110 for them to reprogram the car when it happened to me.

i think im having similar issues but am not sure if its the NATS or the computer.. my security light would be steady and my check engine light wouldnt turn on when the key is on the koeo position. It would turn on whenever it feels like it and if im drivin and it feels like turnin off it would and then id be stuck. Yesterday i discovered hooking up a pocket scanner when im stuck would make the check engine light turn back on allowing my car to turn on even tho the security light is steady on.
