Help with rim size, handeling and comfort ride

I have a 97 Maxima GLE which I want to improve the handeling without sacrifcing too much ride quality. I also am looking to put on a 18 inch wheel with this setup. Can you guys please offer some suggestions on suspension setup, tires size and wheel size. Thanks!

18's won't be too bad if you have stock springs and shocks, although it'll look completely out of proportion. You'll have too much wheel, too little rubber, and a huge wheel gap. If you are on stock springs, I suggest 16's. Even 17's look kinda funny at a stock height.

If you are looking to get better handling, I suggest the usually front strut tower bar and rear sway bar. These should run you under $200 and will improve you handling much more than rims would do. The limit in a stock Maxima is the body roll. Once the bars are on, you may decide to go further and go with sport springs. If not, you can decide to get your wheels then.

I have 17X8" wheels with my H&R's. I think that's just about right. I wouldn't want to go any wider and I wouldn't want to plus size any more. My car's nice an' comfy and has amazing handling capabilities for a Maxima.
