trying to add fogs...

quick question...if my stalk already has a fog light switch, do i need anything else other than the lenses and brackets? like any wires, etc.? or does my car already have it? i have a 99 maxima and the stalk has the fog switch but the car doesn't have fogs.

Check and see if you have the fog relay under the hood. If you do not add it. The fog wires should already be there.

And that is it!

It ensures that the fog lights receive full voltage at all times.

Kind of looks like this:

It doesn't ensure anything, really. It just takes the low voltage side trigger from the fog light switch to trigger a high(er) voltage connection to the fog light circuit.

Nothing can make sure that the fogs receive 'full voltage' at 'all times' (which would include when the switch is off, no?).

you need the fog relay, and fogd of course, the fog harness is taped up behind your bumper. just plug and play since you already have the fog switch

do that. check the relay. My fogs did not work and when I checked the relay was not there. Now they work just fine. The relay is blue and is located under the hood in the black relay box at the passenger side of the engine bay.

I'm glad this isn't that big of an issue. I'm interested in buying a Maxima and a few I'm looking at don't have fog lights.

If you buy the fogs from the dealer they should come with everything (Lights, Brackets, Relay, and a New Foglight Stalk) then they are just plug and play like mentioned above. That's how I put mine in and it took about 10-15 mins to install.
