Funny noises coming from wheel

I just started hearing this funny squeaky noise and something kinda clanking (like a screw or metal object being rolled on metal)coming from my front left tire area. Whats weird about the noises is that they only occur when im going like 5mph and under, after that i hear nothing. This definitely wasnt always like this and i just heard the noise tonight so i cant really see under there.. I will check it out tomorrow but am wondering what i should look for? Any ideas on what it might be?
Thanks in advance, Jules

I want to end up with the kyb agk struts but im in the process of saving up some money right now, would it be so bad to ride around on the current ones for a little while? (if that is the problem)
Thanks

It shouldn't be a big problem as long as you can stand the sound, it nearly drove me insane!

Please describe more... does the sound happen in any direction, just while turning, when hitting bumps?

Actually it happens when im going str8 and very slow, when i turn hard the noise goes away. I think the noise continues as i accelerate but i cant hear it with my head hanging out the window due to the engine and wind. The clanky noise vanished which makes me think a screw or something came loose and fell off?

I doubt it's your CV joint then, that would be the opposite of this situation as far as I know. Definitely sounds like something could be loose and rattling around.

I might not understand, but when your brake pads get too low, there is metal that hits the rotor, telling you to chage the pads. If they are very low that might be your problem.

Good luck,
Erik

This is NOT from the brakes. I have the same problem. Driver side Front wheel. It squeaks at random. I can stick my head out the window at slow speeds and hear a mild but constant squeel.

I can hear the same noise at higher speeds when I have my window down and drive next to the cement divider. It is drving me NUTS for I cannot figure out why. I want to fix it but don;t know WHAT it is that I need to fix!!!

I had the same noise, slight clanking when going slow. What it end up being was a rock in the disk brake. I could see it in the vents. Once the car got up to speed the rock would get pushed to the inside of the disk and stop moving. I was able to get it out with a screw driver. Take a look in there.

I am guessing something stuck in the brake disk also. I'll take apart the brakes (pads and rotors), clean the hell out of it using some brake cleaner and put everything back together. I just hope that works.

I just hope it is nothing serious like the wheel bearing. Thx for your input. I will post my findings on this thread...

That would explain the clanking noise but what the **** is the squeaking, that noise is starting to really **** me off.
Thanks, Jules

I just found this post thru a fellow org member. I hear clanking noise when driving and turning left, when in motion and turning right, I hear no noise. i have my windows rolled down and the clanking sounds come from the front driver side tire area. I just had my cv boot replaced in that area, and I doubt it the cv boot. I also notice that I had to add some brake fluid for the second time in three weeks.
