My girlfriend insist that i love my car my car more than anything else, and I'm never gonna deny it either! and my family laughs when i even talk about spending money on it, i havent even spoke of my plan for a future 3.5 swap in a year or so.
Funny enough i actually had a weird dream last night where i bought a 2k3 max, guess i do have a problem..
not the fact i had a dream about buying another max, just the fact if was bright yellow

It would be hard for me to get rid of my max too. When I bought my Z nobody could understand why I didnt trade my max in and i'm kind of glad I didnt since it has saved me many many times. The only way I'd part with it would be an accident or a real good deal on a dream car of mine. I tell people all the time that I love my max more than my Z and its true.

Which Lexus? The trade-in value of the LX570 is about $75K and the IS F goes for about $45K.

But really, what I've come to realize is that I drive my Maxima faster than about 95% of the cars I encounter. The IS F is way faster than any legitimate reason I can think of. So a GT-R seems to be way overkill since I don't go to the track. Plus the IS F is MUCH more luxurious and practical than the GT-R. I guess it's just the boy racer in me that wants the GT-R.

I brought my maxima with the full intention of selling it by June '10... Boy I was wrong...

After owning it for a few months I've decided that this car is never leaving my possession. Since then my whole plans for cars have been put on hold, I really used to want a '03 6spd TE, but for some reason I fell in love with this car and I can't see my self ever selling it ever.
It's gotten so bad now that if I won the lottery tommorow, I wouldn't even buy a new car, I'd just fix my 99 and finish what I have planned for it then put the rest for savings (and more repairs)...

I do dream about owning a boosted Aztec Red 3rd gen tho... But that's off and on...

I think the KBB on my car is close to $0 to there's no point in getting rid of it IMO.

I agree. The GT-R is cool, no doubt, and it is definitely a supercar, but it is NOT an "exotic". For that much money, I'd be a lot happier with a used F-car or a moderate mileage Gallardo. More than that, the GT-R's luster wears off pretty quickly because the driving experience is so... mechanical.

The IS-F is a pretty slick car, I just wish the rear end didn't look so boy-racer.

My 96 SE is still going strong had it for 3 years now and i got it for 700 from a friend.
Body damage, rusted out exhaust system no rear brakes. and 202,000 miles.

Exhaust is fixed and the brakes are next the front bumper will have to wait for me.

All said and done this car is fantastic the only thing it needs is a 5MT And a better sound system.

I love my Maxima !

Well i have to say that i already have owned 4 maximas, the first was a pearl white 1995 gle and sold it because i bought another 1995 gle black with 73,000 miles on it, 2 years later changed for a eagle talon 1990 turbo awd, i ran with this car 11.3 @ 128mph,526whp @ 28psi, this car was a pain in the @@@SSS..run great for a year, later just problems, sold it and purchased my 1995 gle deep green in process of my 3.5 swap( the best maxima ive ever owned) and recently purchased a 1997 gxe MT black for parts car.

My brother have a 2007 maxima se and my neighbor have a 1998 gle...

I Think that we are just not maxima crazy guys, i think that if you know something is good, you just gotta love it and stick with it...

When I bought mine, my wife said she would learn to drive a manual. 3 years later, she has not even sat in the driver's seat. You can't even imagine the pain in the a$$ this has caused us. Many times, would it have come in handy for her to drive mine for whatever reason. I don't care, I am keeping this thing until it dies!

I bought Maximus about 2 years ago now, with 176k miles. He had a few codes, crank, cam, knock, o2, and a timing chain tensionor bad. Fixed those and he has 220k miles now, and i just replaced my radiator, a cv joint, and i need to fix an upper oil pan leak. Now, i am hearing a horrible whine at all rpms, and all gears, with the ac on or off. Its either a bearing somewhere on the front of the engine, or another timing tensionor. This poor guy just cant win. He aint even a damn 5spd (which is comming soon!).

But....i would have the hardest time if i had to get rid of it. Even if it was for my dream car....

I have put so much blood, sweat, tears, and skin in to this car, its like he is a part of me now. My soul is in this car. And i really have not done anything to him yet. Im afraid to think how much i will love it when im done.....
