what is a good tire size?

ok...i asked this in the tires discussion section but no one was responding, and i wanna buy the tires this week so i figured id see what people said here. anyway, i have a 99 max on which i put 17" 06 g35x wheels. the tires currently on there are 215/55 's. i decided that i wanna get new tires, and i want something with a little less sidewall. would 225/45 work? or would 235/45 be better? any input is appreciated

If you got the 225s, they would have a looooow sidewall. IMO, if you drive on bad roads everyday, you should go with the 235/45.

235 is too wide for those wheels. how about a 225 50 17?
