Engine Replacement?I got antifreeze in my oil

I have a 95 Se with 212000 miles about two weeks ago it just stopped running I pulled the dipstick and found water on it. The radiator is empty. It runs for a while until it gets warmed up and then shuts off. I am contemplating putting another engine in,a friend of mine found a 95 engine for 350.00 with 10100 miles on it. I have never replaced or even considered replacing an engine. I am only thinking about replacing the engine because of my financing position and of course it is a Maxima. I am Philly if anyone have any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Uhhh, hey man got quite a few questions for ya..

1. can you please rephrase your original post, im having a tough time understanding what your trying to say..

Ie.
I pulled the dipstick and found water on it. The radiator is empty. It runs for a while until it gets warmed up and then shuts off.
Okay, so you pulled the dipstick for Oil, and found that there was Water on it.. And based on your thread title your assumeing that it was actually antifreeze, meaning that your Oil is indeed Milky white correct?

The radiator is empty you say, well have you bothered to fill it up? Or are you implying that it was full and now it has emptied and your afraid into your engines Oil.

You said it runs for a while until it gets warmed up and than shuts off. If you knew you had these problems why in the **** would you make an attempt to start it or drive it.

The best thing for you to do right now is to probably Drain both of the fluids (Coolant and Engine oil), and if you would like to make an attempt to keep this engine run 5 or 6 changes of oil through it... I would also check your tranny fluid, considering the situation of this particular vehicle.

Is your exhaust burning a color? White smoke?

If you are in the market for a new engine. Just drop in a 3.5 and call it a day. Im also confused you said a friend found an 95 Maxima engine with only 10k Miles on it!? or was that a typo?

Please Please elaborate otherwise noone is going to make an attempt to help you.

No exhaust smoke at all. When I fill the radiator the water it ends up in my oil pan after the engine has run for about five minutes. And by the way runs smoothly as if nothings wrong until it warms up.Then it doesn't start at all until it cools down. The 95 engine I found has 101000 miles on it.

Your first option should not be to replace the engine. R u sure its not cutting off cuz its overheating?????? You said there is nothing in the radiator so how is your engine being cooled? Do you see coolant or oil leaking anywhere on your engine? Anywhere on the ground? Time to do some Batman investigative work

The temperature gauge is not reading hot when the engine shuts down. I did have a what was believed to be a front oil seal leak for about 2 years leading up to this problem. There is no antifreeze on the ground.

Honestly if you have found another motor in your price range and your for a fact are going to keep the car for a while then i would just go ahead and swap it and get it over with....Your working with over 200k miles and you have a suspicious head gasket leak... which i still dont understand.. how you can have water in your dipstick but you dont have white smoke coming out of ur tail pipe... your motor has to be burning the water if its all in your oil like that...but anyway i would just swap it out and maybe go through this motor later on and rebuild it...

It mind boggles me too It starts right up and runs smooth with no smokey exhaust until it warms then runs like crap and eventually shuts off.
