80 MPH - Car Shakes

Once i get around 80 MPH My steering wheel starts to wobble a lot and it seems like the car is shaking a little, like it almost feels like my tires are going to pop off the car.. lol
im not sure what the problem could be but i do know that my tires are starting to get pretty low tread.
could it be that? or i was thinking maybe alignment & high speed balance?
or could it be the mixture of all 3?

i mean i would like to feel safe in my car when driving at that speed, and would like to be able to drive faster.. but at the moment i cant so whats best way to solve this?

New tires........alignment...... Your probably hitting your warning ribs on the worn tires.

sounds like your tire's are out of balance. I wouldn't really waste your time getting them balanced though since you are in need of a new set. Any place you get them put on will balance everything when they mount the new tires as part of the mounting process.

i had the same problem back in January. I found out that it was my front end alignment was all messed up and to top that off my front struts were shot, my best bet is that you just need alignment.

^^^ I used to get a shimmy at 120 in my VE. It turned out to be tires and balancing. I switch the front to the back and vice versa and the shimmy stopped.

That's a good idea, rotate your tires, set the air pressure to the recommend and psi, and see if that affects the vibration. If it does, then its your tires, if not, its something else. Even if the rears are unbalanced also, the vibration should at least be different.

The Balance is off. Take to your tire shop si they can balance and align the car. That will solve your problem

Don't spend any money until you get new tires. You'd be surprised how worn tires, even if not completely gone yet, can change. Ride quality degrades, noise increases, it may simply be the tires. Once you get them, you should get an alignment and balancing then anyway. If the problem persists, then start chasing things down.
