Oxygen sensor Codes question

I pulled codes for my 1997 I30 on the scan tool at school and it said that bank 1 sensor 1 was out and the " circuit heater" or something like that for the O2 sensor was messed up. Is this something serious or is it just saying that because the sensor itself is messed up, causing it to give bad readings? Thanks

Do you have the exact code?

Have you tested the oxygen sensor?

What do you mean by 'something serious'? In all likelihood, you'll have to replace the sensor. Not sure if you consider that 'serious' or not.

If it's just a circuit heater code it is more then likely the sensor but double check wiring and connectors also.

By serious I meant, is it something that is gonna cost alot of money or something that is hard to do. I replaced the O2 sensor itself today and erased both codes and none of them have come back yet, so hopefully everything is good.

Yes, we know exactly what is wrong and how to fix a problem, the code for which you have twice now neglected to give us.

Seriously, it takes 30 seconds to pull the codes. How exactly do you know that that is the code that's come up if you haven't read them? And if you have read them, then why would you not tell us?

Get the code, then we can help. /thread.
