i have rust problems

I am having rust problems, right where the evap canister is located at the left bumper side.

I went to the certified toyota and nissan bodyshop and they said ,there is rust they don't

do any rust work because of the lifetime limited warrenty. The shop also said they don't

think the insurance is able to accept any rust claims either. I think they don't want to take

any responsibilty to do any work on the car, eventhough the shop has a lifetime warrenty.

Rust is one of those things that will never go away until they stop using steel in auto manufacturing. The only way to control it is preventative maintenance, regular inspection, and staying on top of it.

I am wondering If, there just making up stories so they can't work on my car or there just scared that they are going to have to work on it all the time because of the warranty.

I have rust in the same spot, on both sides. On my car it looks like the spot where the drain tube come out for the sunroof is the culprit. I think they don't want to work on it because once rust starts, it's almost impossible to stop, and they don't want the responsibility. I plan on cutting out the affected sections before winter and replacing them with some sheet steal.
