I think my antenna is dead, Its was making funny noises last sunday, and not moving. sounded like it was trying to catch but never did. Now it is stuck in the up position. Doesn't make any noise when i turn the radio on or off. Any ideas?

 

If it's still making noise your motor still may be good. You may be able to repair it with just purchasing an antenna mast. I believe just the mast from Nissan will cost you around $30-$40. If your motor is bad it's quite a bit more. I'd check the salvage yards first. I picked up the whole assembly from a recycler for $40.

 

Remove the mask from the assumbly.. Inspect the cord (it will come out w/ it) and make sure it looks good.. If it does clean your mask very well and reinstall if still dead you need the motor.
