9007 conversion

Contemplating doing the 9007 conversion on my 96. Planning on doing the lo beam/ground wire switch rather than the full harness. Does anybody know if I'll lose the daytime running lights by just switching the wires?

I don't think doing the swap will affect your DRL system. The lights will still be there, just wired differently.
FWIW - I did the 9007 wire swap/no harness on my 96 and the output is only slightly better. It would probably be even better with the clearer 97-99 headlights.

DRLs should be hooked up via a relay - if not .... you should have one. So, in short - no, you shouldn't loose DRLs by going to 07 setup.

I loose mine. I dont know why, probally because I tried my light with one side 9007 and the other side 9004 to see the difference.
Fried??

You can set up a relay for that pretty easy. I could make you a harness if you would like. You'll just have to tie it into a 12v source (which isn't hard to do). I don't think you 'fried' anything, but I can see how it would be confused by the differnt inputs. PM if interested. If you need a referance, PM Ilyak ....
