I am a two-time DUI offender and have been ordered to have an Ignition Interlock Device intalled in my car once I get my license. Has anyone here ever had to deal with this? If so, how much of a pain in the *** is it?

Also, through the grapevine I've heard that this device has somehow messed up engines. Anyone?

 

A friend of mines mom had one on her 96 Maxima a few years ago. It didnt mess anything up.
But deal with it. Its less of a pain in the *** than walking/bumming rides/taking the bus...

 

It can't 'mess up' an engine.

All it is is a starter kill, at least the ones I've seen. We've got one at the shop with one hooked up, so we just jump the starter manually or push start it to get it running.
