Strut bar rubbing hoses....

I just got my max back from the mechanic, after paying him 700 dollars. He tells me that i need to cover all my hoses because my stillen strut bar is rubbing through them. Does anyone have any ideas of how to cover them from getting rubbed by my bar? i didnt think they were rubbing , i think the mechanic was just a *******. And after i pay him 700 bucks for a 100 dollar part. It would have been the nice thing to do , to cover my damn hoses for me, then he could have raped me for 2 things instead of just that one.

didn't you ask for a repair estimate before he did the work. don't cry about getting raped if you just give them your car, and say ' fix it' .

the bar shouldnt' rub the hoses. it may rub the hood lining though.

The estimate was 39 dollars to replace a hose going to my waterpump. I was gone all weekend, and he called my parents with the 700 bucks for a new water pump deal, They said fine... bullsh!t if you ask me. But oh well , i needed the waterpump, anything to keep my baby running healthy and happy... im gonna check the hoses today , i doubt its rubbing, but ill check it out.

maybe electrical tape for black coolant hoses. My Courtesy Strut Bar rubs against the A/C pipe and hood "padding" only. You can always check for obvious wear from time to time.
You can use pipe insulation for the A/C pipe. There is a thread somewhere on the A/C pipe here.

I had a problem with my Courtesy STB rubbing on a hose beneath the bar. I had one of the techs at the Nissan dealer look at it and hol told me I could just bend some of the parts to make enough room. I have not had problems with rubbing anywhere wlse beneath the hood.
