Center Console help!!!!!

hello, i have a 1998 maxima and yesterday I just replaced the stereo with an aftermarket one. I had no problems until the last step which was putting the top portion (the one that has the air vents, clock, hazard swith, and rear defrost switch) back on. I cannot get it back into place. There are 4 tabs right below the actual vents that i cannot get to latch or click back on. I just cannot get enough pressure on the piece and I obviously cannot hold on to the back to get added pressure. Has anyone else had this problem??? i am running out of options and might have to take it in (which I do not want to because of $). Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas or can they help me out. It would be much appreciated!!!!

First time when I slided it back in place, I couldn't make the lower edge flush with the center console. Then I found the two tabs on the module (air vents, clock, hazard swith) were bent up a little, and they went in above the two slots instead of supposedly into. I bent them back down just enough, and they went in perfectly. Those tab material is kind of flexible, but don't bend more than necessary. Now I have taken the module in and out for at least 5 ~ 6 times, almost as easy as sliding a drawer.
