Problems with BOSE Sterio System. 95 Maxima

Well since ive had the car ive seen the screen come on twice for a few hours other then that in 4 months i haven't seen the screen and just guess what track im on.

The cd player worked and BOSE sounded good And read cd's fine. well the next morning on my way to work i try to turn on the radio and it comes on i hear the antena come out but no sound out the speakers. i put a cd in it and i hear the cd turning and playing but the speakers aren't putting out any sound at all completely quiet.

I checked all the fuse's. What could be wrong and what could i check? Thanks,

ok, i just read it. I wouldn't mind putting a aftermarket head unit in but i thought it would be a pain to wire up because the original bose system is wired differently. Not only that but what if i put a after market one in and its not as loud or clear as the BOSE system.

Ill just do that then. all i have to do is connect the aftermarket radio in with the adapters that i get and thats it? or do i have to by pass the boses amps at each speaker?

no bypassing needed. u need the dash kit antenna adapter and a adapter for the bose which is the metra 70-7551 like in the bose radio replacement thread in the audio section

o please, just replace the friggin blose h/u with a pioneer or alpine, etc., and replace the crappy paper cone bose speakers with some nice jl's, or some polks. you'll be glad you did!!! add a nice 12" sub and you'll wonder why you did'nt do it sooner!!! (probably $$$$$) http://cgi.ebay.com/PIONEER-DEH-P610...item45ef1c096c

If you use the Metra harness listed above you will likely get an annoying pop/click every time you change something on the HU. Some people don't get it. I bought a cheap Sony and it is ANNOYING. Has to do with the Bose powered speakers and a capacitor discharge. If you search you will find the threads. I thought running off the RCAs and not using the HU amp was slick too but this popping is driving me nuts. There is another Metra harness that has a line level adapter built in to run off the speaker outs off the new HU. I didn't buy it because I didn't want a line level adapter but people say it will eliminate the pop.

i used to get a reeeaaaallllll annoying whine from a/c when stereo was on, added a filter to the amp and its pretty much gone. and, whose going to spend 300.00 bucks on a h/u??? look at the pioneer i listed in my first thread. its got blue tooth and ipod with all the cables for 214.00 plus shipping. you are'nt going to get that retail. look around on google and compare some models and prices. i know pioneer and alpine are 2 of the best sounding h/u's cause i've had like 3 each. figure with some decent jl's your looking at like 500-600.00 if you do all 4. add an amp and sub, probably like 800-1000.00. alpine e-series and a 6 channel jl amd 450 watter and i got a kick *** sounding stereo that no honda can beat!!!!
