heated seats?

How difficult is it to replace the heated leather seats on/off switch. Do you have to take it out from the top or take apart the console?

Also, I been pricing the switch...very costly. Do you know of some aftermarkets replacements?

The switches can be carfully pryed out with a small srcewdriver or pick tool. Just pry gently on each side. They pull right out. As for the bulbs, Nissan will tell you that you have to replace the switch,(they cost about $40 or so), however it is possible to disassemble the switch and replace the bulb. They are available from RadioShack. There called 12volt microbulbs and cost about $1.49 for a package of 2. Good luck.

the cost of the switch is $78! That is from Nissan in the Dallas area I believe. I might have to go to a bone yard to find one.

Thanks

WOW! $78 bucks! Make sure it's the switch causing you seat not to work and not the heat element in the seat itself. The easiest way to check is to swap the working switch (from the other seat) with the suspected bad switch. If the seat still doesn't work with a known good switch you probably have a problem in the seat element.

Thanks for the information. I believe its the switch (very loose and I can't feel the switch activate).

No prob. If you have a friend who works at a car dealer or a shop they can probably get some kind of discount from nissan. I work for a Lexus dealer in NY and Nissan was gonna sell me a switch for 40 bucks. Good luck.

maximus75,

I have a question. Do you pry the actual switch or the area around the switch to remove?

Pry at the outer most part of the switch. Not the part that you press but the outer lip of the plastic rectangle. Work the tool in the front and back of the switch and it should wiggle its way up.
