amazon.com has some great prices on auto parts, and free shipping-which is nice when it comes to rotors.

You also may want to look more into X drilled rotors, they aren't for everyone.

save your money and get regular blank rotors, not slotted or drilled and slotted. they won't help you stop any faster, they will eat your pads away quicker, they dust way more, and they will crack and require replacement sooner.

True, if they weren't casted that way, if they're casted that way then you will see the benefits of the holes/slots w/o the aforementioned drawbacks. Brake dust is usually more controlled by the pads than the rotors. I can't speak for my rotors rather they were casted that way or not but as for the brake dust, I don't really have out of the norm brake dust.

no stock sized maxima rotor is cast with holes in it, guaranteed. even 95% of BBKs that come with $600 rotors are not cast with holes in them, the overwhelming majority are drilled after the fact. slotted rotors increase pad dust dramatically, I've had them twice (one set came on a car I bought, the other I bought on my own before I knew better), realized they were pointless other than for looking cool, and went back to blanks with the same type of pad. it's like scraping the surface of your pad with a cheese grater, and certainly won't help you stop at any better.

holes are drilled and slots are milled.. what does that have to do with anything he mentioned.

Now thinking about it, my knowledge of brakes really come from Supras, and doesn't really apply to the Maxima world lol (Maximas don't really do 120-20mph often do they?). Plus the advantage of drilled/slotted rotors aren't for shortening brake distance.

Again, I really should retract my statement, I haven't seen a Maxima on this forum that could really benefit from what I said (not saying there isn't one, neither have I really looked for someone who really tracks theirs, I'm sure they're here...)

But as for the brake dust issue, you're just using the wrong pads, if I was really interested in it I could do the research and find out how to cut down on the brake dust... but honestly my brake dust isn't as bad as that glorious e46 I had the misfortune to drive for a few months. I mean about 20 miles and those rims would turn gunmetal from a nice silver... ugh...

::Edit::
Even after saying all of that, you wanted Slotted/Drilled rotors, my recommendation still stands. If the nay sayers talked you outta it then well just get plain ol ones then...

Also to nealoc, according to an experiment I did in lab if the holes are drilled in the proper places/pattern it won't affect structual integrity, again this was a physics lab with very contolled variables. We drilled holes in our bridge support to cut down weight because we needed every gram possible, part of the grade reflected upon how much weight the bridge held vs. how heavy it was.
All this to say what? Drilled/Slotted rotors (if done right) aren't structually weaker. Also some brake manufacturer has info on it... I should google it... But we're way off topic now aren't we?

i got aftermarket OEM d/s rotors from ebay, cheaper than OEM rotors from an autoparts store, and with akebono ceramic/kevlar pads, ive seen no dust at all, and theyve been on for over 2 years. i guess maybe your experience may have been different, but im nothing short of delighted with how they look and perform
