Weird Noises Coming From Suspension - Struts? Strut Mounts? Inner Tie Rod?
I was just talking to a Camaro owner here at work and he's saying it may be my PS rack. It is leaking, maybe it's clunking now? I'm gonna get that replaced (have to anyway) and see if it fixes my problem.
My previous 4th gen had a lil clunk. If turned the wheels from all the way right to left, i would hear a clunk maybe at 30 degs off perfectly straight. I was gonna replace the PS rack when i got a chance.
I have the exact problem, same noise, but mine also happens when my car shifts from 1st to 2nd gear especially when it shifts hard like on a cold day b4 its fully warmed up but I also feel/hear the noise when I go over bumps and when i turn left and give it some gas.
Everything is stock on my car suspension wise nothing has been changed yet, I have 68,xxx miles, any suggestions on what I should look at first?

ive been havinga similar issue. It is in slight acceleration and normally up hill. Mine comes from the front left wheel area. It has newer axels, ball joints, everything except the struts really. (which have around 230K) its a solid sounding pop noise. Someone said it might be caliper noise but i have new calipers also. I had the transmission completely rebuilt at 190K. (which is when all the new axels and joints went in.) I gave up trying to figure it out and just turn up the system so no one can hear it.
hey i had a knocking noise coming from my car also and i could feel it in the floor board it only happened when it rained(I KNOW WIERD RIGHT) i replaced everything from struts tie rod ends inner and outer ball joints come to find out it was my passenger side cv axle replaced it and have not had the knockin since when it did knock almost sounded like someone tapping under the car with a hammer i hope this helps before u spend a lot of money
right now i have a weird noise in my front end when i turn at a lower speed, its like a clunk clunk clunk clunk...its really weird. kind of freaking me out.
Ive had the same issues, someone told me the "strut bearing" was the culprit. I know when I slammed my max a few yrs ago the noise stopped. but when i went back to factory springs it returned. Gotta be something in the strut.
