just ordered some from amazon and will be waiting to install soon seeing as though ive had my car for 4 years and never been able to have the hood up without a 2x4. how long has anybody had these amazon ones before they have gone out?

 

I'm going to replace mine with a permanent fix - the 'hood support bar' - they don't wear out, it it folds out of the way to close the hood, it always works, and it won't squeak like a rat when I open my hood.

 

just got the new hood struts installed and have to say its the most practical improvement to the car year to date and easy, no more worrying about crushed fingas

 

I had the strong arm hood struts on my car for 70k miles about 4 years. There finally failing on me again. Just to give you guys an idea of how long they should last.

 

I agree this was the best "upgrade" I have done so far.
