Brake noise question.

I just put brakes on my wifes '96 SE and now it's got a weird noise when braking. It sounds like the rotors warped or something but there's no shake in the steering wheel. Maybe this will descride the sound, it's kid of a WAU-WAU-WAU-WAU-WAU-WAU. Anybody else had this problem? Oh yeah, it does have ABS.

Did you remember to put the "shims" back in? What kind of pads did you use?

The pads were from O'Rielly's. She doesn't race around much (as far as I know) so I didn't go with any thing high-performance. Think it's just cheap pads? The thing stops okay but that noise sucks.
