WTB: Newer Motor for my mAx! 00 & up

My 5spd 96 Maxima is dying... Smokes, blows a spark plug in a matter of a month, ticks and many other bad things at 150k miles...

I would like to upgrade to a newer (more powerful motor and perhaps go Supercharged if I find the materials at a reasonable price)... If anyone has any info or parts, please contact me...

Is there a Maxima mechanic that does this in the NJ/NY area?

Thanks,

Unless u can do the swap urself...then i wd say dont do it. Jus replace the engine. THey cheap to find and replace. Prolly 1000 bucks or less. The swap will cost lots more and require lot more labor/tuning.

Swapping an engine is more for enthusiasts not for everday driving...JMO.

If u can find one...get the 97-99 engine. They have the improved tensioners. Or...if u got the cash..have the mechanic replace the lower tensioner and water pump while the engine is out.

good luck man

O and superchargers are hard to find...i hrd stillen was the best and cost like 3000 bucks used. AND there is a lot of work / tuning that goes into that too especially if you dont want to throw a piston from tryin to go lightspeed lol
