left turn only noise-any other options other than splash guard?

It's a rubbing noise, it's rotational (varies with speed) and only happens when I turn left (even slightly), could it be anything else?

I have raxles that are only about 3 years old, and just replaced the tranny and clutch.

When I was hit last time, I was bumped into the car in front of me, so the left side is a little tore up. If it makes it through the winter I'll fix it up this spring.

Going straight or turning right causes no problems, so that leaves me to believe it isn't bearing or axle related.

If it's rubbing on something you should be able to see it.
Have you looked at the wheels when their turned left?
Are you lowered?
Are the wheels centered in the wheel wells?
Any suspension damage in the accident?

no, accident was a little while ago and at less than 5mph. It just screwed up the fender and splash guard.
I think it only rubs when I'm in motion and the splash guard is pulled into the tire by the air resistance.

I was just wondering if it was possible it could be something else.

How hard to change front wheel bearings? Is it DIYable? I am getting tomorrow my first Maxima, and I think I got the same issue when I was test driving it today. If bearings are bad, the car should shake in certain speed, no?

so it started in only one direction? right now I'm guessing it's a front left problem. would mashing a bunch of axle grease in the hub do anything for me? I would prefer to duct tape and gum it through the winter if possible, because I don't have a garage to change it myself anymore....and it's been snowing for 3 days in a row up here

no, no shake. The surface that the ***** of the bearing run on had some corrosion. That was enough to make her howl. Do a search in the forth gen section for "wheel bearings". You will find everything you need to know.

I did mine in my garage. It was easier than I thought it would be. But then again, I am ****ing brilliant.

yes
maybe, give it a try. You can pull cv axle out of the hub, and access the backside of the bearing from there.
