How do I remove the black paint from the front grill "NISSAN" Emblem?

Last year I painted the front grill Nissan emblem black. Now, I want it to be chrome again. How would I go about doing this? Will the chrome emblem be ruined if I dip it in paint thinner? Any ideas?

+1, just sand, wash, dry, prime, paint (edit), clearcoat.

You want it back to chrome? Get some oven cleaner. The stuff in the yellow can works better than the fume-free stuff in the blue can. Spray it on there and let it set for 30 minutes or so. Then use an old toothbrush to scrub the paint off. Wont hurt the chrome or the plastic. But wear gloves when you do this.

Really the chrome is painted on? I painted my emblem white one time and didn't want it white anymore so I just sanded the emblem and it was still shiny after I sanded it. But the paint pretty much just fell off in chunks after I started sanding

Careful rubbing with a lacquer-thinner soaked rag will remove the black paint pretty quickly. It might also remove the plastichrome if you're not careful but I'd give it a shot before going through the trouble of buying a new one. Also, I'd remove the logo from the car before proceeding or you might take paint off that too.

Be sure to use solvent-cert gloves.

get a new burger, my guess is whatever process you use to remove the paint will work, but itll weaken the chrome finish, and i see it chipping away eventually. and voila, you got a black burger again.
