4th Gen Photo Request

Hi guys. I've been experimenting with site banner designs over in the Photoshop Forum, and am currently looking for front-end photos of all generation Maximas. Very specifically, I'm interested in shots where the roof line flattens out.

I used to drive a '99 SE 5MT, so you think I would have lots of photos. Sadly, no.

Here's a 5th gen example. Notice how the undercarriage and roof line are both level, the tires are clearly visible, but the photo doesn't have any wide-angle distortion.

Apparently this is an uncommon angle. I've been trolling through the member rides, CarDomain.com, and even Auto Trader, without much success.

Of course, winter may be an awkward time to make this kind of request... it's not like people are going to go take pictures of their car at this time of year. But if you have something to offer, please post it here, or PM me for contact information.

Thanks!

I don't know if this is exactly what you want but here's an attempt.

Sorry about my splash guard, in that photo I've had the car for two days, didn't get around to fixing it lol.

[Edit - One more]

Oh, that's good! Well done, man! Thank you.

4th gen and 5th gen... it's not perfect, but perfection is an insane goal. Thank again!

[edit]

After a few more posts, MROTH weighed in with a more accurate angle in his black Maxima. Although I would have liked to work with this gorgeous, red SE Limited. Anyway, moving on...

My bad. I have an idea of what you're looking for, but my car might be a little to low lol.

Probably. And your aftermarket front lip lowers the look even further. But that's OK, I think aackshun's photo works well enough for what I want to do.

These 4th gens are making me seriously nostalgic.

Pearl93VE provided base image stock for a great 3rd gen photo. I like how it worked out so well that I'm thinking I need to work a little more on this red 4th gen to bring in in line with the others.

Aachshun's image is just a little too close-up, and I distorted it too much.

If anyone else has a front-end shot at this angle, orientation and height, I'd love to see it. So far, Aachshun's is the closest I've seen.

[edit] MROTH weighed in with a good angle on his black 4th gen.

I don't like the front plate either but nothing I can do about it. Law requires it here. Gotta keep attention away from me.

Teehee, that's one of the many advantages to registering my car in Kansas vs. Texas

You're right about Mroth's photo; it looks like the right aspect ratio and perspective. I'll play with it later this week. Although I was kind of liking the red in your car.

Thanks again, guys.

IMO you should do a red 4th gen as that is a rather rare and sought after color

I'm going to try again with the red one... I think I fubar'd the aspect ratio a little. Whereas I know I can work with this black one here.

You're right, red 4th gens are extremely rare. If memory serves me, the only one offered in red was the 1999 SE Limited Edition. You know, the SE with the little fender badges.

Hey MROTH, even if nothing comes of this project, you might enjoy knowing that I used your Maxima as the baseline for the 4th gen in this image. Thanks for your help.

The photo angle sure looks right, even though the lighting is off. But yea, I'm done.

That little project became kind of obsessive, so I really am done with it. At this point, I'm waiting on another Org member to weigh in with his graphic, and hopefully the admin will set up a poll for the larger community to register their preference. And if none of that happens, well, the project was still fun, and my image editing skills got a little bump from the time invested.
