help with p1336 code

help with p1336 code

has anybody had a code p1336, i know it has to do with crankshaft position sensor(pos).. ive changed the sensor,wire harnes but i cant get this code to go away.help is greatly appreciated....

If you have not already done this........... Turn the ignition key to the on position. Make sure you are getting 12VDC (battery voltage) between the red and black wires of the connector and 5VDC between the white and black wire. Make sure the black wire measures short to ground.

There are instructions for troubleshooting this code in the FSM in section EC if you have access to it.

yes im getting 11.9 volts and 5.1 volts on the white wire.. i checked the black wire and it gets ground..what is FSM? can you check the sensor for resistence and how much does it has to have? im thinking maybe i got a bad sensor,,,,,,

Here's the FSM (Factory Service Manual) link to EC. Go to page EC-340 and read on. You can download the FSM or parts thereof from the 'Nicoclub' site, it works really well. I've found that you can also just get the nico link and go there whenever you need it if you have good hi-speed. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/maxima/1998/EC.pdf (change the year if you need to)
